![]() Anime - Japanese Animation Baka - Japanese word for idiot or fool Loosely put an Anime Baka is someone who's crazy about Anime. However interpretation's may vary. I tend to think of Anime Baka as meaning something like drooling fan boy/girl. ARTICLES REVIEWS PHOTOS MUSIC ABOUT ME BIG GUN LINKS
Wrote this a long time ago. Too short for an article: Perverted - Hentai in Japanese. But the word pervert means deviation from normal or accepted. So, how can all guys be perverts? Did you ever notice that the sex scene in the movie is generally at about the same realative place as the guitar solo in a song? |
![]() ![]() 2009-07-12 Western Warship Combat Club Well I made the big plunge, twice. I carpolled down to San Jose with Terry to do battle on the pond of destiny where the scores of old are settled. I think the Axis whipped the Allies more than the other way. If you don't have any Idea what I'm talking about, I'm talking about scale model warship combat. Yes that's right model warships with actual guns that fire. They sink and you go get them back, repair them and do it all over. They shoot CO2 powered air guns from BB size all the way up to 1/4" ball bearings. The sides of the ships are "armored" with balsa wood which is particularly fragile. When enough shots go into your ship to cause more leaking than your bilge pumps can handle your ship sinks. I got to sail a Cargo Ship, the USS Neosho Tanker in one battle. I didn't time my cargo run very well and ended up getting ganged up on by a series of three destroyer runs. The destroyers with their torpedos are pretty impressive and one of them scored a nice large hole below the water line. I tried to make it to the far cargo port, but sunk before that. In all I lasted five minutes into the battle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Neosho_(AO-23) I then switched off to taking lots of pictures. After the battle one of the guys dove down with flippers and mask and pulled her out. I then spent a lot of time re-patching her and getting her ready, but the radio didn't want to respond. So we ended up just getting the HMS Rodney ready (also had radio issues) and also sunk that battle. Overall I had a great time, but I was a little bit upset to have sunk a loaned ship. She sure looked sad after taking such a beating. Now I really would like to get my own small cargo ship to run, but I don't know how that will work out. Funds are tight and I have other work to do. Still who knows. I have plans to build an Admiral Graf Spee once I have shop space and time, perhaps this winter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_pocket_battleship_Admiral_Graf_Spee After that I'd like to build a Viribus Unitis or another dreadnought, perhaps even an HMS Agincourt with her 14 guns or an IJN Ise (she was a Kawasaki) with her 12 guns.
